“Mark was sensational… from minute one was full of energy, knowledge, provocation and counsel. He was the highest rated speaker in our post conference survey. Our team genuinely loved him and were made better for everything he shared.”
Wendy Clark, CEO, DDB
“Thought-provoking, colourful and rigorous in his analysis, Mark is everything you need from a conference speaker. His consensus- busting keynotes at Marketing Week Live have always been brilliantly received and very popular.”

WHAT PEOPLE SAY ABOUT MARK’S KEYNOTES
Mark Ritson has addressed our INFORM news media summit several times at our invitation… each address to date has been carefully developed, not so much to a brief, but to the audience of senior news media executives from right across the business… Mark evidences his assertions but his delivery is fluid and colloquial. He is a funny and irreverent bastard who tells it like it is to an audience he is careful to understand.
When we arranged Scandinavia’s most renowned marketing event in decades, SprintAd-dagen in Stockholm, Mark Ritson was the first one we booked. Mark delivered important basic principles of marketing with a rhetoric that combines simplicity, provocation and a great deal of entertainment that makes the audience listen and absorb. The feedback after the event can be summarized with phrases like “Best Ever”, “World Class” and “So Important”.
We have booked Mark for a number of conferences. Not only for our own Sales & Marketing Directors’ Meeting, but also for our members’ TV Days and Innovations days everywhere in Europe… Mark has each time been nothing else but impressive… charming and easy-going style. He makes a complex message simple, he dares swimming against the flow and the number of brands he has worked with in the past make his speech credible and gives a strong foundation to his opinions.
Mark Ritson inspires businesses to cut through the hype and hysteria surrounding marketing today and return to irrefutable principles and practices that work.
Mark is a former Professor of Marketing at Melbourne Business School.
He has a PhD in Marketing and has been a marketing professor at London Business School, MIT Sloan (visiting) and the University of Minnesota.
He has also received MBA teaching awards at LBS, MIT, Singapore Management University and MBS.
Furthermore he teaches a Mini MBA in Marketing online twice a year.
“Ritson is a world class speaker. Among the best I’ve seen. And I’ve organised, and attended, a LOT of good conferences around the world. Outspoken, but with an authoritative, and authentic point of view, Mark completely holds and entertains the audience. Every time he’s spoken at our events, he’s delivered some of our highest post-event feedback scores of all time.
As a speaker, he is a huge drawcard for those interested in the world of marketing. For me as an event organiser, there’s no better feeling than watching venue staff frantically putting out extra chairs because the crowd is streaming in to see Mark speak.”
Tim Burrowes, Founder & Content Director, Mumbrella
Mark has worked globally as a private marketing consultant for organisations such as Baxter, Loewe, McKinsey, PepsiCo, Subaru, Eli Lilly, Donna Karan, Westpac, Shiseido, Flight Centre, Johnson & Johnson, De Beers, Sephora, Benefit, Amgen, Ericsson, Jurlique, Cloudy Bay, Unilever, KPMG, WD40 and the list goes on.
For thirteen years he served as in-house professor for LVMH – the world’s largest luxury group – working in Europe with senior executives from brands such as Louis Vuitton, Dom Perignon and Hennessy.
“Professor Mark Ritson is one of the most compelling speakers I have ever heard; he combines insights, based on sound research and analysis, with a strident communication style that is both absorbing and entertaining.”
Global cosmetics brand
Mark has been writing a weekly column for Marketing Week for more than a decade. He is also a columnist for The Australian newspaper.
On three occasions he has been judged the Business Columnist of the Year at the PPA Press Awards, the highest award for magazine journalism in the UK and was the British Society of Magazine Editors Business Columnist of the Year in 2018.
His more scholarly publications include articles in the Sloan Management Review, Harvard Business Review, the Journal of Advertising and the Journal of Consumer Research. He also received the Ferber Award for his doctoral thesis.
“Mark owns the stage when speaking; he has the ability to use his relaxed and open style to fully engage the audience drawing them in but then ‘smack them right between the eyes’ with hard hitting and disruptive ideas. He is the voice and conscience of marketing defending the heart and art of marketing against loosely defined and ill thought through ‘new ideas’.
In 2018 Mark was rated one of the “Power 50” most important people in media by AdNews, one of ten top business thinkers in Australia by Smart Company
He was recognised by the AMI with the Sir Charles McGrath Award, the highest honour for marketing in Australia.
“If I want to shake up, in a good way, an audience so they walk away impacted I ask Mark to speak, he develops original material and brilliant visuals, he is the ‘mailman’ of speakers… he always delivers”
Ian Hardie, Global VP Learning and Development, Sephora
